UT Fans

I'm always amazed at how people choose to show they are UT fans.  We see their logos all over Paris Landing.

But, I think this one - which is embedded in concrete -  might win the prize!

Settling Into Fall

We've had a lot of rain the last few days and it has just about knocked all the leaves off the trees.
Fishtale Lodge

But, it's still quite beautiful here at the Lake.

The leaves may be gone but they left us this beautiful black lace.

Or just one ...

We're having a beautiful fall ya'll!

Welcome to the Lake

Folks who live at the lake are always on the look out for just about anything that says, "Welcome To The Lake."  Emily Bolding of Russwood decided to create her own welcome sign when she bought this set of plain - unpainted lawn furniture.  That's right she did all this painting herself.

I love the way she decided to highlight the skeletal look and the little air bubbles on all the legs.

Love the details.

Flags

One of the things I've always liked about ...

Paris Landing - my neighborhood ...

is the abundance of American flags.

You don't have to go far to find one.

They're everywhere!

They're everywhere!

Isn't it wonderful!

Thanks to our Veterans!

Beautiful Day

All the following photos were taken today at Paris Landing State Park.

Sometimes ....

It's so pretty around here,

It takes your breath away.

Hope your day was as pretty as mine.
I think we're going to have more of the same weather tomorrow.

Sunset On The Lake

We can never have too many photos of Kentucky Lake - especially when they are as beautiful as this.

A great photo by Kathi Stofel.

Boat or Flower Bed?

You have to look close to tell this flower bed is actually a boat - maybe a canoe.  I've driven by this property on Lakehill Beach Estates many times through the year.  In the Spring it has beautiful tulips.  I love this idea for a very original raised bed.

Wonder Woman Spotted At Paris Landing

Is Elise Bridgewater Wonder Woman or “a modern day miracle” as her daughter, Sharon Seaton of the Fishtale Lodge  proclaims? You decide.

If you know Sharon, you know how “unique” she is. But you might not know that her Mom, Elise, has Alzheimer’s. And in her usual, unique way of tackling life, Sharon has taken an unusual, very Sharon-like approach to dealing with Alzheimer‘s. She started a blog. A blog titled “Detours From Sanity.”  You can read about the story that started it all here.

Sharon said, “I decided to look at this disease as my Mom always looked at everything in life …with a song in my heart and a smile on my face.” “Smile” seems to be a key word in Sharon’s stories about her life with Elise.

If I ever get Alzheimer’s, I want to be Sharon’s Mom. You will feel the same if you visit her blog at http://detoursfromsanity.blogspot.com/

Mail Boxes In The Fall

Even though the temperature today is supposed to be in the 80's ... Fall is in the air at Paris Landing.  Foliage is starting to turn colors and fall, the mums are starting to bloom and the nights are cool and crisp.  In a short while the color scheme around the lake will change from shades of green to brilliant oranges, yellows and reds.

Hello Fall!

It's the first day of Fall and the weather at the lake is ... well ... very Fall-like.  The weatherman is calling for rain, which hopefully will miss most of the outdoor activities planned for this weekend.   There is a crispness in the air that makes you want to get outside and play.

Happy Fall!!!!
