About

Thank you for your interest in Paris Landing. This website is run by me, Lee Owenby.

Paris Landing is a special place for me. As a child it was where we came for weekends and vacations. It’s a place of good memories, family and adventures. As an adult, I still got to come here on vacations, but I always envisioned this - Paris Landing - as the place I would eventually call home. It was where I always wanted to be.   I finally got to move here for good in 1991, so now if people ask me where I’m going on vacation, I say, “I’m here.”

I live here. I have family and friends here. I love it here. I think it’s a very special place.  It’s a great place to visit and a wonderful place to live.

And that’s what this website is all about - living here.  If you are looking for information on fishing and hunting, you are in the wrong place.  Maybe you need to visit this site.  This site will also provide links about the history of the Tennessee River and my neighborhood.

So, what makes it so special?
First of all, there’s this.

Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake / Tennessee River.
About half way between Paris and Dover, Tennessee.

Living at The Lake is about peace and quiet (except for a few holiday weekends).  It’s about living in the woods on or near The Lake.  It’s about hearing bird chatter in the morning when you go outside to have your coffee on your porch or deck.  And catching a whiff of lake air that has it’s own distinct aroma, not fishy, but you can actually smell The Lake in the air.  It’s about the wild turkeys and deer that graze in your backyard.  It’s also about putting up with poor cell phone service, while everyone waits on those Eagle eggs to hatch in that nest on the cell phone tower.  Sometimes there’s a little bad with the good, but it all works out.

Thank you for visiting.
