Super Moon On Kentucky Lake

All the photos in this post were taken by my nephew, David Cullen - a wonderful photographer.   They were taken a few weeks ago right here in my neighborhood at Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake during the Super Moon.

His kiddos - Sara and Josh, went with him and of course couldn't resist picking up a few rocks and shells in the moonlight.

A Walk In The Park

Paris Landing State Park is the jewel of my neighborhood and you never know what you’ll get to see there.  I went the other day to check out their fall decorating.  They always have the prettiest displays.

I had just taken this photo of the really cool fall display at the Tourist Office when I heard the unmistakable “thump thump thump thump” of a helicopter and headed over to the picnic area to see what was happening.

Caught the 5th Special Forces Group out of Ft. Campbell practicing over Kentucky Lake.  So proud of these brave folks and happy to have them as neighbors.

They were so far away I barely caught them with my little point-and-shoot camera but you can see a lot more photos of them on their Facebook page or read about their history here.  It was a really windy day.

And of course, I had to get a shot of one of my favorite views.

The bridge never changes but the clouds always give it a different look.

See how windy it was.

Love this display!

And I almost forgot the main reason I went.  Just wanted to let the folks in my neighborhood know, you don't have to drive all the way to Paris to recycle.

Henry County has placed recycling bins next to the State Park Tourist office.

Sweet October

Photos by Michelle Reece
All the photos in this post were made by Michelle Reece on an annual fall fishing/camping trip to Bard's Lake in Land Between the Lakes Recreation Area - just around the corner from Paris Landing.

Funny how people who fight getting out of bed early to go to work aren't bothered in the least at getting up at the crack of dawn on a camping trip.

Good night.
